  • Begin your research by looking at the tab label Resources at the top of the page (it is hyperlinked hre as well), it is encouraged that you use other creditable resources as sources. Please use the proper discretion in choosing creditable resources. Initially during this research you will be looking for effects of the ailment on the individuals overall health. Ideas of how this information can be conveyed are a t-chart, diagram, or venn diagram (these are only a few ideas please do not limit yourselves to them). Each group member need to have a copy of the research done as it will be used in part two of this project.

  •   Your group will also need to research one medical condition that could have caused the failure. Examples of medical conditions could be obesity, enlarged heart, or a chromosomal disorder. Webmd is a suggested site to begin your research at . Your write up will need to justify your choice and explain the additional symptoms the individual would experience. You will need to attach a bibliography, foot notes are not necessary. This write up should be a couple of paragraphs, a formal essay is not necessary. (Additional computer time will not be allotted to complete this research or for typing up the assignment if you choose to do so)

Part two is not to be started until part one is completed and handed in.

Part Two:

Additional computer time will be provided to complete part two.

Once again you can refer to the Resources page and the appropriate links for your disease.

  • After your research is complete you will compile the information into chart. Once again some of the appropriate formats would be a t-chart or venn diagram. This is not a limiting factor but do note the weight of this portion of your assignment on your entire project mark. Each member of the group must also have a copy of the research as it will be used as the research for the position papers which will be written individually.

  • At this point you will be working individually. It is encouraged that you collaborate with class mates working on the same condition prior to beginning writing your paper. Their research may have covered some of the preventative and corrective concerns/benefits yours did not and vice versa.

  • Your paper must be written in in a formal format, including a bibliography and credit to those you’ve collaborated with. If you are unsure about how to write a position paper please click here for a resource. The credit may be paid with mention in your paper however you must list their sources as well within you bibliography

  • Your position paper must state which method you think is most beneficial, in a convincing manner. The reasoning must consider the treatment financially, individual’s health, and to make your paper more convincing why another method may be used as well as why they are not as advantageous.

This paper must be handed in hard copy at start of the class on teh assigned due date. A mark will not be assigned until all four parts have been handed in. These four parts are the chart and write up from part one and chart and write up from part two.
